The hotel coast

Six hotel sites and a glamping camp, between 1,120 metres of beach and more than five kilometres of lake shore. No operator has been announced yet. This is the place they will be built in.

Memories Beach

A beach with a season of its own

The sand bar at the northern end makes a wave about five hundred metres long, and the season runs from late April to mid-November, the longest in Thailand.

Why it matters to a hotel

The surf season falls across what is usually the quiet half of the year on this coast, so the beach brings people when other beaches are empty. The shoreline is long and gently sloping, which is why families and beginners learn here, and why the national surf events keep coming back: some have drawn more than a thousand people to the sand.

What is already open

Memories Surf Village sits at the northern end: the bar and restaurant, the surf house with its ISA-accredited school, a Rip Curl store, a children's corner and a massage pavilion. A hotel guest walks into a working village on the first morning, not a construction site.

The sites

Six sites and a glamping camp

From 17.7 to 91.2 rai, the smallest behind the beach and the largest among the lakes and forest. Every one sits on the Green Spine, so every guest can walk to the sand through the park.

On the beach

The two smallest sites sit directly behind Memories Beach, beside the surf village: a boutique scale, with the village's bar, school and events as the hotel's own street. Along the beach to the south, the 4 larger sites have their own stretch of the shoreline.

Among the lakes

Behind the beach the land opens into lakes and casuarina forest. Three further sites sit here, the largest of them the biggest hotel parcel in the plan, with the Green Spine's walking trails on one side and the water on the other. The glamping camp sits between the elephant home and the town centre, by the creek.

Phases
The two beach sites and the glamping camp are Phase 01; the four lake sites follow in Phase 02.
Infrastructure
Phase 01 roads and power are complete; the ring road and main services are in.
Operators
None announced yet. They will be named here first.

The neighbour

JW Marriott Khao Lak

The 475-room resort at the southern end of the beach, five hundred metres from Matalay's own shore. A new access road joins the two in December 2026.

What it means

Guests of the resort reach the surf village, the beach bar and the elephant home directly, and Matalay's visitors have a hotel of that scale on their doorstep from the first day.
